Penguin Christmas...

penguin
this was my inspiration... (of course I found it on Pinterest)

so I enlarged it...(remember the old style of enlarging a drawing)

outlined it onto a 4'X8' sheet of exterior plywood...

cut it out, Kenneth actually did most of the cutting...

we got two thumbs up on making it big enough...

painted it white, front and back...

added the colors...

the penguin in front has a 3D effect on his nose...

picked out a font, and more holiday themed quote.

we used an old 32" door, painted over front and back...

all pieces nailed together...

may you all have a very Merry Christmas

the KCS Holiday Train came to Ashdown this week and we took the girls to go see it...
It was decorated inside and out...

and there was this gentleman in a red suit...

Blessed...

I had to work on Thanksgiving day, so Kenneth came up and we
ate together, he cooked...
we also had pie.

I was going to send him to WalMart to get us some new sheets
 during the Black Friday Sales...
But I was told not to do tha, last year the women were fighting over themt...
so I ordered some online instead, without all the drama,
and they were cheaper!  We love them.

also this year I am changing out my Christmas decoration, after 10 years.
we're going "Penguins"

material we got yesterday, Kenneth helped.
I'm also learning how to pick similar fabrics, for future quilt making.
What do you think?
Its for a new tree skirt I saw on Pinterest.

Thank you...

Every Christmas I get a magazine subscription for my sisters, the last 2 years I gave them Cottage Living... This year my sister gave me a subscription to Countryside Magazine. Thank you, thank you...I can't wait until it starts arriving. Kenneth asked "what kind of magazine is it?" my reply "its about raising small livestock like; goats, chickens and information about gardening!" His reply "Gee thanks Dwana!" He's excited too.
