Snow!!! on Christmas Day

(**we lost electricity for 2 hours but were completely prepared, Love the propane)

Phase Two of the kitchen remodel, 

upper cabinets painted for the baking area.

but now there's no wall...

the center wall 2X4 was warped and through off the whole wall.

so Kenneth cut it straight and we reran two new electric lines.

to update some of the wiring...

there, the walls are back and cabinets up...

base cabinet painted and, while I was at work,

Kenneth got it installed and the counter top built.

This section will have tile top, which is my part.

Penguin Christmas...

 

this was my inspiration... (of course I found it on Pinterest)

so I enlarged it...(remember the old style of enlarging a drawing)

outlined it onto a 4'X8' sheet of exterior plywood...

cut it out, Kenneth actually did most of the cutting...

 we got two thumbs up on making it big enough...

painted it white, front and back...

added the colors...

the penguin in front has a 3D effect on his nose...

picked out a font, and more holiday themed quote.

we used an old 32" door, painted over front and back...

all pieces nailed together...

Leah had her tonsils out...

so Emily came to stay a couple nights with Grumpy...

they made macaroni and cheese...

she decorated the tree...

Grumpy learned to make jello... "Is this bowl big enough?"

Emily painted her nails. (with washable markers)

they watched Caillou...

Leah was not happy with the television choices at the hospital...

she's back home and recovering nicely though.

Christmas Train...

the KCS Holiday Train came to Ashdown this week and we took the girls to go see it...
It was decorated inside and out...
