Well house cont....

We're still working on the well house redo...

added white trim...

and a LAZY "Z" on the door,

and repainted the old window I got from Canton Trade Days several years ago.

Cut out flower shapes to make out of these old plastic signs for the window box.

cut these out last night, while watching TV...

some red, and orange centers,
need yellow, purple maybe blue or pink...

and then I found the glitter paint...

Kenneth picked these up...

I saw this on Pinterest...
Window box flowers...these hang outside my studio and I love these. I make these out of recycled signs. Colorful and so eco-friendly.

If you don't want to make you own you can buy them from Colleen Attara Studio
(scroll to the bottom of the page and go to her "Shop")

and started painting a quilt block on the back side for the trail riders to have something to look at when they go by.

Finished it yesterday...

Kittens in the window...

and a little friend...

this is the other side, I made it into a pillow.

I'm also working on a wall hanging
made with 3D Pinwheel blocks...

I want it to have quilting that looks like the wind blowing,

a little bird appliqued onto the grass

and some yellow flowers I made from old sock tops and dyed with Lemonaid Kool-Aid.

they smell good...

I have the quilting lines drawn on and
the little bird appliqued on...

picked a light blue for back fabric and
small polka dot for the binding.

haircuts for school...

Emily got several inches cut off this year,
you can see Leah's expression in the mirror as
she checks out the back of her's.
She also told Karma Lee "I 'm old enough
know, you can wash it too"

this is only her second time, I think,
that she's had it trimmed.
They always said
"you can't cut it! we want to have Rapunzel hair."

Our Flag...

I took this at sunset last night, I played around with it trying to make it look like water color.

1st Day of School...

the Mexico Border...

some men came through Texarkana, Texas one afternoon and placed this structure at the point where they said the border of Mexico used to be located.

It ran right through downtown, just a couple of blocks from where I work. Pretty cool.

Our latest project...

Kenneth "The well house looks like it needs repainted"

I had come to the same conclusion.
I had picked out a green color to help it blend into the trees, but I was in town and Kenneth couldn't find my Notebook where I keep all my ideas, let's just call it "my brain".  So he said "it's green, just buy a green paint."

so while he did some finish/repair work on it
I scraped all the old paint off...

do you know how many shades of green there are?

This is what I bought, it's called "Shamrock"
by Bear Paint

It's GREEN!

Okay if you squint one eye it kinda blends, don't you think  :-)

the blue square is for a touch of the sky, more about that later...
but it also reminded me of those Quilt Block Barns.
That gave me another idea.

Stay tuned for my brilliant revamp of the well house
into a cute outbuilding...

So far in August...

we've had a "Happy Birthday"...

Kenneth had surgery to both wrists (actually this was in July) to remove the cysts which the Dr. had been treating, to no avail...

(caution...graphic photos)

   left wrist had 7 stitches

   right wrist had 5 stitches

He got his stitches out Thursday, and was able to play 27 holes of golf Friday, so I think he's all better... Even if he's a little sore today.

We hosted a 4 family Yard Sale, the weather turned cooler and we had a very good turn out...

you can also see how the okra and hot peppers are growing in the front bed garden...

Amanda and the girls had Bible School this last week..

and before we know it... school will begin on the 25th!
Emily will be in Kindergarten and Leah will start Pre-K.
