So... this happened...
always something when you start tearing into a 53 year old house.
Our house was built in 1972. We are the 2nd owners. so was expecting some wood rot behind the vinyl.
the chimney is being torn down to, to the roof line.
its in bad shape and what we have inside are ventless propane logs.
south end is not too bad. but all fascia and soffits on back will have to be replaced. The tear down continues.
Got the dback patio awning off in 3 pieces.
Looks different.
at least its not supposed to rain this week.
Made myself a throw...

Back... a Cross made from leftover fleece.
still working on the machine quilting.
How it all started...
We got tired.
After 25 years redoing the inside of the house we could no longer finish the ceilings in the living room/dining room/ kitchen and the office. So we hired David.
After prepping and covering everything for almost 2 days, he had them painted in less than 2 hours.
there SO shiny...
He also saw my list of "To Do" projects and said, I can take care of alot of that.
and so it began...
MAJOR RENOVATIONS... BEFORE
So...we're having the back patio awning removed, taking off the vinyl siding and going back to wood, paint the entire house.
Dorian Gray on the brick, fascia and soffits. Salty Dog (navy) on the peeks and front entrance with cedar shutter and embellishments.
Will also be adding an enclosed back porch.
Similar to this with cedar.

Project Linus Quilts
Discovered Project Linus Quilts. See there information here...
They came to our church.
Before momma passed i hadn't sewn or read a book in 3 years. Everything just kinda got put on hold.
The lady from project Linus said if all I could do was just sew 2 5" squares together it would help.
So I did that and returned them to her.
and I realized I could sew again.
It was such a peaceful experience.
I've since seen some 4 patch blocks, some rail fence blocks and 20 2" strip, quarter log cabin blocks.
And the top pictured above.
Then I made 30, disappearing 9 patch blocks which I'm going to finish into a throw for me.
Aid for the aid
16 years ago I got a lap band.
Starting weight between 230 - 235.
Lowest weight I probably got was 165.
In the 80's I did phen fen.
Got down to 158. But you know they took it off the market, the whole death thing.
When I was in grade school my Mother took me to weight watchers. When I was 12 I weighed 150.
My entire life has been looking for a way to control my weight.
I helped care for my mother the last 3 years. She passed August 11th. I've put back on weight.
So once again I'm going to try the latest wonder drug, semiglutide.

Another year...another injury
So 2 weeks ago Megan was practicing for track at school and tore the ligament from the top of her right hip causing a chip fracture. She'll be on crutches for 3 weeks and then 4 weeks of rehab.
Last year she broke her thumb playing volleyball and was in a cast into summer.
This is her first time to get her hair tinted. Age 13.
Because of her injury she doesn't have to do track but, she also missed out on competing for travel volleyball nationals coming up in June.
Leah will be going to nationals in Orlando in June. next year they will both probably be competing.
All the girls keep us very busy. Emily and Leah are both on the golf team this year.

The last month...
Megan got baptised on my birthday. Emily and leah were both baptised last year on Megan's birthday.
Eye surgery...
I had cataract surgery on my left eye, January 15th. Then 2 weeks later We did the right eye. Have to do eye drops for 3-4 weeks on each eye, 4 times per day. Can't wait until I can get my new prescription. I'm near sited and have astigmatism. So for now everything is blurry.
Kenneth will have surgery on both his eyes March 5th. He has "entropian". his lower eyelashes roll into his eye. They do a cosmetic surgery and remove some of the extra skin under his eyes to tighten everything up.
We've been able to go to 2 of Leah's travel volleyball tournaments with TC Elite. They've gotten a 1st place, and 2 second place. these were from 20 - 30 teams participating. Now Megan is also going down and learning. Charles says she's better than 90% better than all the other girls.
Today we're waiting on some freezing rain to come in overnight and in the morning. so just staying in and staying warm. I made a big pot of beans yesterday with cornbread.
Momma's doing well. got her several more puzzles that she's able to do in her room. Katie, the activities director, keeps her busy.
this is for penelope...
I had this puzzle at home and Oscar lost a piece.
