Preparations...

Curly Sue got her first professional grooming in preparation for the party...
getting ready is just exhausting...

I made bright colored banners (note to self...when gluing letters to the string you must spell the word out upside down and backwards) for the patio. Kenneth set up the lawn chairs.

thawing out the hot dogs...

and buns, these were all bought at Sam's Club,,,

6" mini cakes frosted with; strawberry cake with cream cheese and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting... you have to frost the cakes 24 hours before.

there is one square cake...

Mom (Amanda) learned how to make fondant so she could make her first birthday cake herself. Here she got all the cakes covered and stacked

and then we realized that they make it look waaayyyy too easy on all those cake shows because if you'll notice the blue cake is beginning to get alittle squished from all the weight of the other cakes, so Kenneth cut some dowels to stick in the cakes to help support the weight. No go!

so we did cut outs on the big cake made out of the fondant...

and she just did two stacking cakes...but wait there were five mini cakes...where's the other one? come back tomorrow to see!
