Weekend Update...

Posting again from work...
We went with Amanda, Charles and the girls to Shreveport Saturday to the Krewe of Gemini Parade.  It was wonderful weather, not too hot...not too cold.  We ate at a Greek restraraunt for lunch, something new, Kenneth had a lamb gyro, it was Delicious.  For Supper we had Vietnamese Pho bowl.  I had a tooth pulled last Thursday so I was on soft foods, but was able to eat a bowl of rice noodles.  i will NEVER buy packaged Ramen ever again.  Everyone had a wonderful time, with about 50 pounds of beads and stuffed animals caught!

Sunday we worked outside before the rains came and got all the front beds weeded and trimmed.  Still need to work on the south bed.  Considering digging up all these bulbs and replanting them.  This bed is pretty much overrun with bermuda.  Something to consider.  When the rains came we ended up loosing electricity about bedtime, for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours.

Checked the bank account yesterday and saw our Income Tax return was in...the amount was almost the exact amount of what we paid to redo the septic system... GOD provides.  thank you...Amen.

JUST A QUICK UPDATE...

I'm at work posting this so sorry, no pictures, just wanted to check in and let you know what we've been up to.

We did get the shower enlarged 6" and the new wall rebuilt.  Kenneth got the plumbing for the shower moved from the back wall to the wall on the left.  So now we can open the door and turn on the water without getting wet. YEA!  We were getting ready to wrap the new plumbing lines and put the insulation back into the attic when we started having water back onto the floor or come up in the kitchen sink whenever I did laundry.  Hmmm that's not good...

So, we tried blasting the line out thinking we had a clog or something in the drain line going out to the gray septic tank.  NO LUCK...  So we had a friend come over and we dug out parts of the line and discovered it was completely blocked, we only put in 20' of perforated line back in 2004, and we needed to replace the whole line.  The more we dug the more problems we found...  The steel line coming out from the house was completely rusted out and we had to reroute the line coming from the kitchen sink which ment drilling through the brick.  The lines going into the septic tank were only being held in place by the dirt and weeds and they had shifted over the years, Kenneth got to where he didn't want to keep digging but I was like "We have it all dug up so we just as well fix it all now or we'll be back out here again in a few years."  So 10 days later... we now have 50" of perferated line and a completely new septic system coming out from the house with multiple clean outs. We also had the tank cleaned so its all brand new.

Needless to say the bathroom remodel had to be put on hold, but now that its finished, except for the mess in the back yard...  which will take a while to get all the rocks picked up, I told Kenneth to mow away from the house for awhile (maybe 5 years or so, "grinning")...  So last night I was able to do laundry again  YEA!

Unfortunately since the money I had saved for the glass shower door is now burried in the back yard, the new shower, when it gets done, will only have a shower curtain.  But thats OK too.  Because I can do laundry. SMILE :-)

This weekend we'll take a break and go down to Shreveport with the granddaughters and celebrate Mardi Gras.  "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"  Let the good times roll...

What's up for 2017?

Remodeling our master bathroom has begun...
Bye-Bye baby blue and brown paneling form 1972.

the light I bought for in here but after we put it up I think it will be moved to the front bathroom when it gets remodeled next.

Kenneth will be working on completely gutting everything down to the studs.  We want to enlarge the shower to make it 3'X3'

this is the tile I picked for the shower floor

this is my vision.......

This farmhouse master bathroom makeover is incredible! Shiplap, subway tile, and raw rustic wood!!! Must see!:

Also I'm working on decluttering some more,
these are just some of the areas in the craft room I need to go through...

I got these shelves moved from boxes to the storage containers,
 looks much better

started on my 4th dishtowel, seems like I'm doing
about 1 a year.

We made a PHO bowl and ate our New Years Day cabbage in the form of egg rolls and homemade apple pie.
