I'm at work posting this so sorry, no pictures, just wanted to check in and let you know what we've been up to.
We did get the shower enlarged 6" and the new wall rebuilt. Kenneth got the plumbing for the shower moved from the back wall to the wall on the left. So now we can open the door and turn on the water without getting wet. YEA! We were getting ready to wrap the new plumbing lines and put the insulation back into the attic when we started having water back onto the floor or come up in the kitchen sink whenever I did laundry. Hmmm that's not good...
So, we tried blasting the line out thinking we had a clog or something in the drain line going out to the gray septic tank. NO LUCK... So we had a friend come over and we dug out parts of the line and discovered it was completely blocked, we only put in 20' of perforated line back in 2004, and we needed to replace the whole line. The more we dug the more problems we found... The steel line coming out from the house was completely rusted out and we had to reroute the line coming from the kitchen sink which ment drilling through the brick. The lines going into the septic tank were only being held in place by the dirt and weeds and they had shifted over the years, Kenneth got to where he didn't want to keep digging but I was like "We have it all dug up so we just as well fix it all now or we'll be back out here again in a few years." So 10 days later... we now have 50" of perferated line and a completely new septic system coming out from the house with multiple clean outs. We also had the tank cleaned so its all brand new.
Needless to say the bathroom remodel had to be put on hold, but now that its finished, except for the mess in the back yard... which will take a while to get all the rocks picked up, I told Kenneth to mow away from the house for awhile (maybe 5 years or so, "grinning")... So last night I was able to do laundry again YEA!
Unfortunately since the money I had saved for the glass shower door is now burried in the back yard, the new shower, when it gets done, will only have a shower curtain. But thats OK too. Because I can do laundry. SMILE :-)
This weekend we'll take a break and go down to Shreveport with the granddaughters and celebrate Mardi Gras. "Laissez les bons temps rouler!" Let the good times roll...

Sorry to hear about the issues in the backyard! The same kind of thing happened with us when my hubby and I were doing renovations. It always seems that you go into a renovation with a load of wishes and then come out after getting about 75% of them accomplished. We had to cut some corners in our bathroom, too, but I'm happy with the results.
