Jamestown Free Ferry

Beautiful Day!
One of our other day trips while at Sam and Courtney's was to the Jamestown Free Ferry, where we then drove to visit Jamestown Settlement and over to Yorktown. It always amazes me the amount of history which took place in such a small area of the country.

Here we go!

Leaving the dock...

They had a lookout above the cars where you could see the view.

Houses on the eastern shore...

About half way...

Here comes the ferry from the other side.

What's that? A very uncooperative seagull.

Beautiful views.

What's that on the far shore?

It's the sight of the original Jamestown settlement.

You can see the tents they have set up for excavation.

Oh look! it's the ships at the Jamestown Settlement. This is next to the original sight which is a Federal Park. The Settlement is where they have reenactments of what the area would have looked like back when.

Here we go...getting ready to dock.
