Roasting garlic

What do you do with a big bag of garlic?
tear foil into squares, push into muffin pan...

place cloves in foil, top with olive oil
scrunch up the top
Bake 325* for 45 minutes...

Once baked place into baggie and freeze,
pull out one packet whenever you need some garlic

Remember the saying...

"A Place For Everything...And Everything In Its Place"

We're getting there...

we got this far and had to stop for Kenneth to have hand surgery.
This was planned, not something urgent.

Dr. said it's possible it's hereditary.

waiting for the Dr., he got purple bear sock to keep his feet warms.

UPDATE: hand is healing fine and he should get his stitches out in 4 more days.

But I already have him back to simple things...

the kitchen has its "BLING"
(knobs and handles)

and I'm finishing up the tile...

UPDATE: completed it today.

now I have to get up my nerve to grout.

We'll put an edge piece on this counter top, trim work, paint the walls,
put up the dining room light...

We talked with the cabinet door maker and got prices, we'll probably do them in sections.

We should be finished in our year timeline.

Now what room to do next?

Building the Pantry...

 remember the plans I drew...
First we built the wall end,  (I mean mainly Kenneth)
and painted in preparation...

3/4" plywood wall installed...

base boards put in and Cleaning cabinet end put on...

the picture below was my incentive (from Pinterest)

Love this idea for the end of the pantry we're putting in.

measuring out the shelves, this is the canning jar side...
braces installed and painted...

cleaning cabinet shelves installed...

first shelves tiles, this helps in keeping them all clean,,,
We will also be tiling the very top, for the same reason.

working on the tile...
we installed the shelves one at a time, tiling as we went...

last brace board nailed in...

canning jar side finished...

right side measured out and installed,
this side is more for dry goods...

trim work attached...
now we just need doors...

we installed the base trim and started on the cabinet over the frig...
no rest for the weary.

moved the refrigerator and put in sheetrock on the other side of the wall.
Kenneth had the idea for building the cabinet support...
a little more painting and...

we're finished for the night...

now where did I put all those knobs and handles (LOL)

Phase Two Update...

still have to put up the subway tile back-splash and grout
but this is the baking center.

this cabinet is painted and waiting to be put above the refrigerator...

it will be 3 inches above the frig. and flush in the front.
I guess this is Phase 2 1/2.

Kitchen remodel...

Phase III... the pantry wall...

these are the plans the designer (me) drew out to show the construction
contractor (Kenneth), what I wanted built.

Easy enough to understand, right!

(unfortunately he missed seeing that the base board was to be 7' 1 1/2"
so it will only be 7' 1/2".  He said he didn't see the 1...
did you see the 1? But it's all good)

and so it begin...
this is the last major build in the kitchen...
but there will be quite a bit of trim/finish work.

P.S. We discovered that Lowes will rip your plywood,
1st cut is free and then only .25 cents per cut after.
So with my exact measurements we descended on the
lucky employee who was going to be cutting for me.
I cannot recommend this more. After purchasing 3 sheets plywood.
With just 5 cuts and $1.00, we have the beginnings of the pantry.
